John owns a successful produce wholesale
business which serves more than 120 restaurants throughout greater
Manhattan. He had no Web site, but decided he needed one. He found
Ydop after being impressed with another business’s captivating site
and its compelling sales presentation. He gave that company his
business and hired Ydop to make him more successful through an
effective Web presence.
John first needed a look and a feel that
would be appealing to his audience: decision makers at busy
restaurants. The look had to be bright and fresh and the
information had to be clear and easy to find. His customers had to
learn quickly that they were dealing with a high quality business
that was able to offer them personalized, efficient and reliable
service. Slow downloads, jumping designs and obscured messages
weren’t going to work. His first site allowed visitors to
learn about his company through a simple but compelling presentation
of his services and how to contact him for more information.
This site was a platform for a much broader use of technology that
John plans to implement over the next year
In the next phase of
development John plans to use his site to support his practice of visiting new restaurant owners. John’s
prospective customers will be given a password to get a private
Online tour of his company, complete with video testimonials
and flash tutorials of why his service is better. His competitors will
be unable to view these pages. John will be able to track if these potential clients
visited his site, how long they spent there and how long they looked
at each page.
Looking ahead, John has plans to implement
an advanced architecture for his site, where his customers can
log on, see real-time prices, get inventory updates, learn about
product status and make online orders.
